Embroidery

...Once I heard the story, and later I saw the end of the story...

Somebody once asked: “Why does the world have so much trouble? Why are people suffering so much?”
“Imagine” replied the priest, “the Lord is embroidering His side (usually in embroidery, one side looks nice and the other does not), the good one: on it everything is beautiful. The opposite side, which we usually see, is full of loops and knots. Then,” the priest continued “when the person is dying, he will see the opposite beautiful side, which God created.”

I heard this story in Europe. Some time later, in China, I discovered embroidery with no back side... Then I saw how this kind of embroidery was done. Two girls, from both sides of the framed silk, were standing and sowing. They were passing one and the same thread and needle to each other and stitch by stitch were creating their own beautiful picture.
I combine two of those stories in my artwork, which has a meaning: If we are to join our life with God, by prayer and faith, we can create as beautiful a life on earth, as in Heaven.
